Lithuania defies Russia and launches missiles

The Baltic Sea witnessed the execution of maneuvers by the Lithuanian army under the operation 'Steadfast Defender 24'. Lithuanian Defence Minister Laurinas Kasciunas emphasized the significance of this exercise as a crucial deterrent measure.

Steadfast Defender 24 is NATO's most significant military exercise since the Cold War. The alliance emphasizes the close ties between Europe and North America, showcasing the dedication to protecting every area of their territory and ensuring security among member states.

The exercise consists of military maneuvers to secure the Atlantic to the Arctic, and troop movements across Europe, from the far north to central and eastern Europe. All NATO allies are participating in this series of land, sea, and air operations, led by the United States.

The latest country to conduct military deterrence exercises against Russia is Lithuania. With the support of the United States, the country has launched HIMARS missiles in the Baltic Sea, the kind of missiles previously deployed by Ukraine in the war against Russian forces. These maneuvers are a clear warning to Moscow should it have plans to act against the Baltic country.
